Hello??? Anyone Out There???

OK, sorry. I feel terible (not that many people read this thing, but I just haven't had time to vent on this thing. The other good thing about this blog is it lets me write and keeps the old gears almost oiled. If I don't blog I wind up over at Say Anything Blog, Little Green Footballs, WizBangBlog or IMAO offering annoying right wing commentary in the comments. Political commenting is such a waste of time because you NEVER change anyone's mind. Usually you wind up getting drug into a name calling match with a troll.

Oh well, here's the update. We had to buy a new (to us) car because the old purple van is sick. I go back to Nashville on MAJOR PROJECT phase II on the 23rd. Hopefully I will still be employed when I come back.

Still fat. Still grumpy. Still sarcastic. All in all, I am still Houston.

Uh OH!

Is it a bad thing if a PBX conversion which has been in the planning stages for MONTHS (literally) is in danger of being delayed due to PHONECO not having shipped the proper parts out due to us not keeping them in stock?

Uh oh...

Two weeks until the conversion, and still waiting on cables? CABLES for PETE'S SAKE!!!!
(sigh)

A Real American

...And no, I don't mean GI Joe.

Last night THE WIFE and I surprised my 12 year old Chris by me taking him to hear Chuck Yeager speak. We didn't tell him where we were going (we told him I was taking him to see the "Doodlebops") and I knew he would be very excited to hear stories from a man who fought in WW2, Korea, Vietnam and flew almost every type of plane in the US Air Force (and some of the Russian planes too).

My only regret is I couldn't get a picture of Chris with the General. General Yeageris 86 tomorrow and after a couple of hours of talking and the night getting on 9 PM I know he was bushed. The arrangers for the speaking engagement brought out a cake in honor of his birthday and we all sang to him, he grabbed a piece of cake and quietly disappeared.

It was a nice evening and it was like a trip back to my youth hearing stories from my grandfather about his time in the army.

God bless you, and happy birthday General Yeager from my family to yours.

Since I Am On A Tear Anyway

My thanks to The Jawa Report for making my day. Apparently the Evil Evil Evil Evil (did I meantion EVIL?) IDF didn't actually bomb a school and,  oh yeah, Hamas might be sorta kinda stealing aide.

Amazing this only comes out AFTER everything is said and done. I mean really, who are you going to take the word of, a group of terrorists who shoot poorly guided rockets indiscriminately at inncocent children around schools in order to maximize collateral damage, or a legitimate military force who shoots high precision rockets (to minimize collateral damage) at terrorists hiding behind innocent children around schools in order to stop terror.

I honestly don't see why this is so hard.

Still Sick, But Entertained

Funny, when Bush misspoke, it was because he was a brainless idiot. When a dem misspeaks, it's no big deal.

I think it's time to hang on to my religion and my guns and batten down the hatches on my compound. Anyone want to join in?

I May Have To Kill Myself

I have a miserable cold... I am home from work while a project looms over my head... PHONECO has announced massive layoffs... and Dilbert is out of work...

Paranoid Much?

Sorry, not trying to be a downer. I figured everyone at work needed to at least laugh at what we were all thinking, so I drew this:

Kind of summed it up nicely I felt.
